Prayers of Strength

I'm not sure if it's my place to post this or not. But, I think maybe the strength of our community of mothers might be worth the risk. Yesterday we heard the sad news that my husband`s young cousin, Julian (19), was in a ski accident. He broke his back, and I believe his neck as well. . . we don`t have all of the details.

I keep thinking of his parents and how they are coping. They are a strong family. Truly a strong family. They have a faith in God that is truly astounding. I pray that they all have strength as Julian travels this difficult path.

And, I keep thinking of Julian too. His path has changed. But, I can`t help but be hopeful for him. His path might be altered, but who`s to say that the destination is any less than the one he thought he was going to take.

Please, say a little prayer for Julian and his family.

Thanks for the prayers and positive thoughts - I knew I could count on you guys!

Last we heard Julian is doing better than originally expected. They thought his spinal cord was severed - but it was compressed - I don't know much abou that, but there's hope!!

How scary this must be for Julian and his family! I just read your update that his spinal cord is compressed instead of severed and that sounds like "better" news...he'll be in my prayers.

Dear Carol, My name is Debbie. I found your site by accident I was looking in Google for Prayer of Strength and your blog came up. You asked for prayers for Julian that had been hurt in a skiing accident. As a mother of three sons my heart went out to his family. I noticed there is no more information regarding Julian. This is May 13,2009 how is he doing?
I enjoyed reading your blogs you have a wonderful family.
May God keep his Blessings on you,
Debbie

Thanks for asking. The latest news is that Julian has been home on weekends. But is in the hospital during the week. He's undergoing many therapies as you can imagine.

It is hard to know what his future holds for him physically - but emotionally and spiritually I truly believe he is in good hands. His family and community are amazing.
